The attraction of employing elements of nature ie. the trees; or a cocoon into my work, is an extension off of the belief of being universally connected: humans and nature. The symbolism of the tree itself is indicative of strength, will and determination. As for the cocoon, the dire need of growth. But I also believe in where a person often times finds themselves; rejuvenates their spirit, is within spending time outdoors. Bringing this sense of an outdoor element into my work it is my hope that it serves as a reminder not only can we relate to each other through art, through images, through symbolism, and beyond the titles portraying emotions, that it reminds us to pause and to remember to enjoy the beauty that surrounds us everywhere.
